Care Navigation Helps Find Friendly Providers

Our Care Navigation service is one of the ways that we help Members advocate for themselves and their community. New Members often ask the question, “How do I find a provider that will work with my healthshare?” As we discussed in our last blog post, we do not work with any network of providers. That fact provides Members with all the freedom they need to direct their healthcare to best fit their needs. However, it can be easy to feel like you don’t know where to begin. That is why we provide this service to our Members. We want to help you make the best use of the sharing funds of the community.

Our Care Navigation team is ready to help you find whatever type of medical practitioner you need. They can look up providers in your area and even help you get scheduled with them in some cases. They help you find a “friendly” provider based on cost, quality, location, and whether they’ve worked with us before. If there are Preferred Providers near you, they will prioritize them in their search. We always recommend going to Preferred Providers when possible. These providers have already agreed to fair and just rates, and they will bill us directly on your behalf.

Care Navigation Scheduling

For elective, non-emergent procedures, our Care Navigation team can often schedule your service on your behalf. They can access agreements with high-quality providers to offer transparent, bundled pricing on planned procedures, including things like knee and hip replacements, MRIs, and colonoscopies. We are able to access even greater savings because these procedures are done at ambulatory surgery centers, independent imaging facilities, and GI centers, compared to the typical high-cost hospital setting that is often the default.

This is an important and incredibly helpful feature of a Solidarity Membership. It helps take a great deal of the work of finding a provider, calling them, and working into their schedule off your hands. 24/7 Telehealth

But what about when you’re just having some acute symptoms? Maybe you’re not sure if it’s worth going to Urgent Care, but you’d rather not wait to schedule a visit. Instead, use the 24/7 telehealth services that are already included in the cost of your Membership! We’ve partnered with DialCare to offer our Members a access to doctors any time, day or night. You don’t have to go through the trouble of going to Urgent Care or paying for a whole office visit with your family practitioner for simple symptoms that can be diagnosed over the phone. This allows our Members to steward the contributed funds of their community as well.

With the cost of medical care continuously on the rise, and with the fight for medical cost transparency at the forefront of the industry, we are doing everything we can to provide resources for our Members to save money and feel empowered in directing their own medical care.
