Finally, an Employer Healthcare Option that is Ethical and Affordable
As a small business owner, we know that costs can add up, especially during a period of financial insecurity. Many small business owners want to provide employees with an employer healthcare option to help offset costs. In a time where the ethical practices of health insurance continue to exist in a gray area, Solidarity HealthShare is committed to providing an affordable and ethical option for small business owners to help their employees fund their medical care.
The Affordable Care Act requires that employers with 50 FTEs or more offer a form of health coverage to employees. There is no such requirement for businesses with less than 50 employees, so they have some more flexibility. Though many small businesses want to offer health benefits, it can be unrealistic on an already stretched company budget. In addition, contributing to health insurance policies that support immoral medical practices can present some really difficult moral dilemmas for business owners.
What Is The Patron Center?
So what’s the solution? To offer a morally sound alternative, Solidarity HealthShare created the Patron Center. This program allows employers to offer Solidarity Memberships to their employees. When employers start a Patron Group, they get access to a central portal to manage their group directly. In the Patron Center, you can add employees as your team grows, remove them when needed, and track the status of your whole group. Employees are still be responsible for their own Membership (i.e. uploading bills and documentation for sharing). However, the employer will be able to manage the financial costs on their behalf in their portal. All of your billing statements are safely stored in the portal for future reference.
If an employer finds that an employee of theirs is already a Solidarity HealthShare Member, the individual Monthly Share can easily be linked with The Patron Center and added to the group sharing.
Will I Have Support?
One of the biggest concerns we hear from business owners when considering joining is that they don’t know how to explain the program to their team. We are here to help with that. Our team can set up webinars or direct consultations with employees to answer all their questions. We want to help them familiarize themselves with a new approach to funding healthcare. And once you’re onboarded, our account management team is available to assist with any questions your team might have, and help your team access all the resources available to Solidarity Members.
We have employers that offer Solidarity Memberships instead of traditional options, and some that offer it alongside other options.
