2024 by the Numbers – Our Year in Review
We’d like to take a look back our 2024 year in review. Your decision to opt out of the immoral systems around us and support an integrated, Catholic approach to healthcare made it possible for us to serve our community and accomplish everything we did this year. We’ve put together some of our favorite statistics from the past year to show what an incredible impact you, the Members of Solidarity HealthShare, made in 2024! Check out our year in review below.
Your Contributions are Making a Difference
- You shared a total of $22,647,303 in eligible medical expenses
- $67,713,785 in total bill charges were discounted by 65% through our Reference Based Pricing method, for a total savings of $44,130,835
- You paid $4,334,297 towards your Annual Unshared Amounts
Advocating for Fair Pricing
- Our Reference Based Pricing method resulted in less than 1% of the bills that we received getting pushback from providers on pricing
- Of the balance bills that we did receive, our Balance Bill Advocacy program resulted in a savings of 79% off of the overbilled charges
- 72,877 bills were received and repriced by our team in 2024
Care Coordination
- Our Care Coordination team helped Members with 676 cases that needed hands-on advocacy
- Our Maternity Care Coordination team helped us welcome 250 new babies into the Solidarity community in 2024!
- During 2024, we expanded our Care Coordination team to be able to focus on more than just maternity. That team helped 152 Members schedule surgeries and advocated for them throughout the whole process.
- We also relaunched our Pastoral Care Coordination program, helping 71 Members who were going through very hard times physically, emotionally, or spiritually
Healthcare Going Digital
- You completed a total of 1,041 telehealth consults with DialCare
- The most common ailments were Cough (117 cases), Skin Rash (81), and Sore Throat (81)
- 52.16% of consultations resulted in a prescription
Caring for Our Community
- Our Member Care team took 42,626 of your calls in 2024, helping you navigate through a complicated healthcare system
- You messaged us 1,534 times on the CareStream in your Member Care Portal
- You shared 234 prayer requests with the other Members in your Member Care Portal
- We offered 14 masses at the chapel in our office for our Members and their intentions in 2023
Growing Your Options
- Our Provider Relations team established agreements with 123 providers to become Preferred Providers, totaling 321 locations across 34 states
- We established Preferred Provider agreements with Savvos and Green Imaging, providing our Members with access to a total of over 12,200 location relationships between the two of them, both spanning across all 50 states.
- This growth will allow Members to have a much smoother billing experience with those providers. Check out our Care Navigation service to find some in your area!
Saving on Medications
- You had 13,022 prescriptions filled through Drexi
- The average fill cost was $24 after discounts
- You were able to achieve savings of 88.0% on average by using Drexi, totalling over $2 million!
