Gary was in the middle of a rep, bench-pressing 225 pounds, when he suddenly felt something give. He stopped immediately, hoping that a day of rest would take care of it.
The next day, however, the pain returned—and this time, it was worse. An MRI confirmed his fears: a fully torn rotator cuff. His doctor quickly recommended a treatment plan that included physical therapy followed by surgery.
