Announcing the Solidarity Foundation!

It is amazing to think that since we launched publicly as Solidarity HealthShare in 2016, we have served over 46,000 Members, and our Members together have shared over $120 million in medical expenses (as of the closing of 2022). What’s even more incredible is that this $120 million represents over $300 million in gross bills initially charged to our Members by the medical establishment. Our discounting efforts and negotiations have resulted in savings of over $180 million! A close friend recently pointed out something truly incredible – our community has kept hundreds of millions from the amoral, and often downright immoral, medical establishment.

Truly, as the figures above indicate, our alternative healthcare program is working, but we’re just getting started. Our vision for restoring and rebuilding authentic Catholic, life-affirming healthcare has just begun.

As I wrote in my Thanksgiving message, we established the Solidarity Foundation to not only further the mission of Solidarity HealthShare but to also support longer range initiatives in line with our unique and proven approach to ethical healthcare.

In addition to providing affordable healthcare sharing for Members like you, the Foundation will be focused on unique and necessary additional healthcare solutions – solutions that no other organization is currently committed to embrace as part of their core mission.

Specifically, the Foundation will seek to financially support three main solutions:

  • Affordable Ethical Healthcare – Building on our unique and proven approach to helping Members fund healthcare, we seek to further accelerate our expansion with new program offerings and deploying new technologies to allow us to save our Members more money, share even more medical expenses, and serve countless more Members.
  • Life-Affirming Health Care Clinics – With growing demand for life-affirming medical care, more clinics are needed around the country. We believe that with the right location, staffing, and support, a clinic can be financially sound and will attract both committed physician partners and patients seeking ethical care. This effort will have a massive impact on our Members by growing the base of preferred physicians and clinics serving you.

  • Training and Eeucation – Working with several partners, we seek to establish a fellowship program for medical students that will help build out the base of ethically trained pro-life healthcare professionals.

While the bulk of the funding for the Foundation will come from outside the current Membership, I am grateful for the many current Members who have made a charitable donation back to Solidarity in gratitude for the services they have received and to help us aid other families in need. To date, over $50,000 has been donated by Members – thank you!

As we approach the tax year-end and you consider your charitable contributions, I ask that you consider a tax-deductible gift to the Solidarity Foundation. Your gift is an investment in the extraordinary vision of Solidarity and in providing these unique and necessary solutions in this hostile environment moving forward.

As a thank you for your gift, we will include you and your intentions by name in the Christmas Novena which the SHS and Solidarity Foundation teams will be praying starting December 16th as well as our regular Masses here at the Solidarity office. We invite you to pray that novena along with us as well.

Yours in Christ,
