World Cancer Day 2025 – Solidarity HealthShare

World Cancer Day 2025: The Power of Prevention, Precision, and Solidarity

World Cancer Day, observed globally on February 4, serves as a powerful reminder of the impact cancer has on millions of lives and the importance of proactive measures in the fight against this disease. As we reflect on this year’s World Cancer Day, I want to highlight the critical role that early detection and precision treatment play in improving outcomes—and how Solidarity HealthShare uniquely prioritizes these through comprehensive sharing and programs that support our members every step of the way, setting us apart from traditional insurance and other healthcare sharing ministries.

Early Detection Saves Lives

Cancer remains the second leading cause of death in the United States, with an alarming trend: more people under the age of 50 are being diagnosed than ever before. This shift underscores the need for regular screening, even among younger populations. Solidarity closely monitors the latest research and updates our screening guidelines accordingly. For example, we now share screening colonoscopies starting at age 45 instead of 50, based on updated scientific evidence. Because of this data early detection isn’t just about finding cancer sooner—it’s about saving lives, reducing the intensity of treatment needed, and significantly improving long-term outcomes.

At Solidarity HealthShare we firmly believe that “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” Unlike many healthcare sharing ministries that do not share into preventive screenings, Solidarity prioritizes your health by sharing into routine cancer screenings, including through our Solidarity ONE Program, where screenings are eligible for sharing even before your Annual Unshared Amount (AUA) is met. This proactive approach not only fosters better health outcomes but also reflects our commitment to being faithful stewards of the gift of health God has entrusted to us.

When Cancer Strikes: The Importance of Precision Testing

If you or a loved one receives a cancer diagnosis, navigating the next steps can be overwhelming. One of the most crucial but often overlooked aspects of cancer care is ensuring that you have comprehensive, precise data to guide your treatment decisions. Far too often, I encounter cancer patients making life-altering choices based on limited or incomplete information about their disease.

At Solidarity, we support our members beyond just the diagnosis. We share into advanced precision cancer testing and treatments that provide a deeper understanding of the tumor’s genetic makeup, allowing for highly targeted therapies. This level of care is something many traditional insurance companies and other healthcare sharing ministries simply do not cover or share into—but we do, because we know it makes a difference.

Preferred Providers Like Envita: Pioneering Lifesaving Precision Care

Having access to the right care at the right time can be lifesaving. That’s why Solidarity works with exceptional providers like Envita, a leader in precision oncology. Envita’s approach goes beyond conventional treatments, offering genetically targeted fractionated chemotherapies, advanced cellular biologics, and CIPI Chemo ImmunoPrecision Injections—cutting-edge therapies that deliver superior outcomes.

As a preferred provider within Solidarity’s provider community, Envita represents the gold standard of what’s possible when precision medicine is prioritized. Their ability to tailor treatments based on the unique genetic and molecular profile of each cancer can dramatically improve survival rates and quality of life. This is precisely why we believe in sharing into these advanced treatments—because our members deserve the best possible life affirming care.
